Firefox is a browser built for speed and security, and getting rave reviews from the likes of PC World, PC Magazine, and USA Today — even Microsoft's security program manager runs Firefox! CTRL+ALT+DEL

May 30th, 2006 by admin

Hi Guys,

Not sure whether you are aware of this technique to lock our work-station.

This is an interesting piece of info that you can use to lock your work-station
without using the combo key "CTRL- ALT- DEL".

If CTRL-ALT-DELETE seems like too much of a hassle, try this instead:

Step 1:Right click an empty spot on the desktop, point to New and click Shortcut.

Step 2:  In the Create Shortcut dialog box, type the following into the
location of the item text box: "rundll32 user32.dll, LockWorkStation" // remove quotes while typing

Step 3: Click Next.

Step 4: In the Select a Title for the Program dialog box,!
type "Lock Desktop" (of course, you can name it as per your choice…!)In the Type a name forthis shortcut text box. Click Finish.

Step 5: Drag "Lock Desktop" icon and include into windows taskbar for your convenience.
Now the desktop will lock when you click your "Lock Desktop" icon.

Or simply you can just use 'Windows Key + L' also to lock your work-station.
